Moving to full frame, exit Canon 500D and enter Canon 5D Mk3

Yep, I was waiting for a while but when the 5D Mk3 was released last year I jumped ship … Not as in from Nikon to Canon but from Crop to Full Frame. When Ana visited me in London last year June she brought the Canon 5D Mk3 for me from NY. I know, I know … it’s April 2013 now meaning I have had the 5D Mk3 for roughly 9 months now. Hey I was lazy in writing stuf … so sue me 😛

Anyway, I must say that it’s an absolute joy to use the 5D Mk3 and that I really love the handling, speed, DoF and high ISO I can use. Though I must admit that my photographic skills haven’t really improved that much 😛 I have since then already sold my Tamron 17-50 f2.8 and my Canon 500D (with kitlens) and the only thing that I still need to sell is my ultra wide angle. The Canon 10-22. I have to say that I don’t really miss being able to use the Canon 10-22 since I have the 24-70L for wide shots. And even then most of the time I can get away with my 35L. I have spent so much money on camera stuff it’s quite crazy, and to think it’s just a hobby and I’m not making money with it. O_o

But the gear I have will last me for a looooong time, I don’t see the need for extra lenses …. though the Canon 50L (or maybe the Sigma 50 f1.4) are very tempting. Not looking at any of the 85mm lenses since I already have the 100L which I don’t really use that much. It’s a bit to long for me but when I am using it I really like the pics I get with it. Guess I need to learn and get used to that 100mm focal length. But my current setup is pretty much all I need for now.
